20th Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music

The Haute École de Musique de Genève (HEM) is delighted to host the 20th Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music at its Geneva campus.

The conference will take place between Wednesday 28 June 2023 and Sunday 2 July 2023 (inclusive) in the HEM’s newly-renovated Bâtiment Dufour at the heart of the city. A vast range of papers, lecture-recitals, and round-table discussions are planned over the course of several parallel sessions each day, punctuated by daily lunchtime concerts performed by the staff and the students of the early music department. As usual, the conference will include optional extra activities and social events, a conference dinner, and a business meeting.

The diverse profile of this conference is one of its hallmarks. Located at the crossroads of Europe and set against the stunning backdrop of the Alps, Jura, and Lake, the HEM in Geneva is a fitting place to host such an event – an international institution rich in musical and cultural history yet truly modern in its outlook.

We look forward to welcoming you to the HEM in 2023.
